Testimonials

Here are a few kind words from some of my clients

Learning

Jill has been working with our son, tutoring him in reading, comprehension and expression for the last year. We are sincerely grateful to have found Jill's services. Prior to this experience, our son severely struggled to read. I felt as though he was unable to connect the dots and feared what impact that might have as he got older. We had used other tutoring services and curriculums that were ineffective for his situation. Jill utilizes her professional and personal experiences to create a wholistic program based on the needs of the individual child. She has a genuine appreciation for each child's unique personality. I'm pleased to say that our son is reading, he is progressing tremendously, and his confidence has grown. I highly recommend Jill to any family who is facing challenges with a struggling reader.

Jill Parker has been a private tutor for my son Max for a year and a half. He tutors with her twice week. Max was formally diagnosed with dyslexia the summer of 2017. However, Ms. Parker knew a full year before the diagnosis of the issues that Max faced with reading, comprehension and writing. She uses a reading program specifically for dyslexic students and she uses each session to match Max's strengths for the best use of time. We have seen a great improvement over the year and a half in Max under her tutor style. We have seen improvements not only in his reading but also writing and critical thinking. Jill is very compassionate and very in-tune with her students. She seems to know just the right way to open new ideas and concepts in Max.

I know I say it all the time but thank you. You can imagine how much anxiety I experienced not knowing what my son needed in order to learn to read. We really appreciate you, Jill.

My son began working with Jill in December 2020, at the age of eleven.  He has a history of central auditory processing disorder and ocular motor dysfunction, for which he received therapy as a young child.  He initially did well on his schoolwork after completing therapy but began showing increasing frustration in fifth grade.  We homeschool, and I tried everything I knew to help and redirect him to no avail.  Our school days would end with my son either shutting down or melting down, with little or no work completed.  I felt like we had hit a wall.  A friend referred us to Jill.  After the initial session, Jill quickly found gaps in my son’s reading and observed ways his brain compensated for his learning differences, which served him as a younger student but no longer helped as workload increased. She coached him on emotional regulation and encouraged him as they went back to basic CVC reading and spelling skills to fill in those gaps. She worked with him on an assigned biographical report for our homeschool co-op, helping him succeed on his paper.   They have also written poetry and creative stories together and are currently writing a “fan-fiction” Hobbit story. Jill also targets auditory comprehension, teaching my son to visualize and retell reading passages.   Since working with Jill, not only has my son’s reading and writing improved, but he has gained confidence in himself and completes his school assignments with pride.  I appreciate Jill’s constant encouragement and genuine interest she takes in my son and our family.  She is a true treasure!

Jill recognized my son's needs and adjusted her teachings to his learning requirements. She has developed a good relationship with both my son and me in regards to his teachings. From her tutoring, he improved in reading and writing but also improved in his confidence in overall communication. I highly recommend Jill to anyone.

I would like to take a short moment to share my appreciation of the tutoring services that Jill Parker has provided to my daughter, who has been medically diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive.  From the time that I researched Jill and “interviewed” her, I immediately knew that she would be a great fit for my daughter. She is such a sweet person.

My daughter always talks about how she enjoys learning from Ms. Jill and how she appreciates Ms. Jill taking time to help her learn.  My daughter has told me that she loves that Ms. Jill does not make her feel “less than” because she does not know something.  As a mother who has had concerns with my daughter’s challenge with reading, retaining information and regurgitating that information, I can honestly say that I have seen improvements with her since she has started tutoring with Jill.  I feel comfort in knowing that she is doing better today, than she did a year ago.  I would personally recommend Jill as a tutor for your loved one.

Jill is a true gem! From the moment I met her she had nothing but kindness and love in her words. A different view, a true view of my situation is how I would describe what she blessed me with - stop seeing the bad and focus on the good and bringing the good into my life 💞THANK YOU Jill

Jill's reassuring, calming style and her knowledge of the human metabolism, gives her guided visualisation sessions extra relevence. She will taylor her sessions to your own requirements, I have worked with Jill in a group and 1:1. I left each session with valuable tools to help me to heal. Jill also advised me on structured breathwork, which has helped immensely as I have lung metastasis. I am truly grateful for the help Jill has given to me"

I developed lung cancer and had the lower lobe of my right lung removed. Historically, I've been a skeptic of "self-help" methods of improving my health and well-being. However, after a year of actually, and faithfully, using three different breathing methods demonstrated by Jill, I can honestly say that this methodology has paid off. My pulse/ox readings are now consistently 98/99% (I have copd), and, at my last appointment with my thoracic surgeon he advised my lungs look clearer. I am dedicated to following Jill's suggested regimes of breathing exercises and truly feel less winded with exercise. It also helps me settle my mind and brings a sense of contentment.
